Celebrating Bishop Robs Retirement

The congregation of St Ninian’s – together with servers and members of other local churches – held a lunch on 12th April to celebrate Bishop Rob’s retirement. Over the last five years Bishop Rob has not only been a wonderful leader, but also a truly kind and caring friend to us all. He has provided invaluable spiritual guidance over the years offering both pastoral care and wise counsel at times when it has been most needed.

We have been truly blessed to have Rob and his wife Lorraine with us over the past few years. Their kindness and care for others have been evident to us all,

Services

There will normally be a service of Holy Communion at 11 am each Sunday.

Now that Bishop Rob has retired, services will be taken either by visiting clergy, or else by our own Eucharistic ministers with the reserved Sacrament.

Please note: There will no longer be a Thursday Service

For anyone who is unable to or prefers not to come to a physical church service, the SEC will continue to broadcast a live-streamed service every Sunday (see details below).

To get in touch with our Vestry, please see our Contact page for details.

There are also ecumenical services which take place from October to April at 3pm on the second Sunday of the month in the Millennium Hall, Invermoriston . From May to September they take place outdoors at 3pm on the first Sunday of the month on the shores of Loch Ness at Old Farm, Invermoriston.

Unfortunately the Church at Corrimony has now closed. But the ecumenical services on the Third Sunday of the month will continue at 3pm, in Balnain Hall.

Sermons

Rt Revd Rob’s sermons available on this website  –  so we get a chance to reflect on them again, or to read them if we missed them. This is the link to our Sermons page.

The Church is situated in a scenic location on the shore of Loch Meiklie in Glen Urquhart, one of the loveliest glens in the Highlands. It is on the A831, about five miles west of Drumnadrochit and seven miles east of Cannich.

Our beautiful little church was built in the 19th. century, but it has ramp access and a loop system, and there is an off-road car park. The door is always open for you to come in and view the Church, or spend a little time in quiet prayer and contemplation.

An extensive program of building restoration work was completed 2 years ago.

Loch Meiklie frozen

You can also enjoy a stroll in the Church grounds; there are benches and a picnic table on the paths by the loch. The grounds are also a prayer garden, with prayers and extracts of scripture to read.

We welcome visitors from all Christian denominations to share with us in all our services and in Holy Communion. We meet for coffee and a friendly chat in our coffee room following the 11.00am service every Sunday.
